Yogesh Gupta, President and CEO of Kaseya noted that, “Identity and access management has exploded in importance as global leaders seek solutions to protect their systems and sensitive data from attacks resulting from identity theft and unauthorized system access.  The acquisition of Scorpion Software, whose proven AuthAnvil products are used by over 500 customers worldwide, enables us to provide our MSP and enterprise customers the most comprehensive and advanced solution to these challenges, tightly integrated with their Kaseya IT management product.”

Comments from Scorpion’s Local Founders

“We are extremely excited to be joining Kaseya, the leading IT Management Cloud software provider for MSPs and mid-market enterprises,” said Dana Epp, founder of Scorpion Software. “We share Kaseya’s vision of an integrated cloud platform for IT management and security, and look forward to offering the new combined solution to our customers.”

David Raffa of Valeo Corporate Finance helped Scorpion achieve the exit by providing sell-side investment banking services.  Barry Carlson, outgoing Chairman of Scorpion, noted, “I am very pleased for Dana and his team and for our shareholders.  When I first got involved with Scorpion this was exactly the kind of result I was looking for and I am glad to have had the opportunity to guide the company to this exit.”

Carlson went on to add, “This is the second time I have engaged David to sell a company I was Chairman of, and as in the prior sale, David’s work product, professionalism and the end result we achieved were everything we could have hoped for.”  Dana Epp added, “Not having gone through this process before, I don’t know how we would have done it without David’s help.  It was a great result for our shareholders and we are extremely happy.”

Congratulations to the shareholders and management team down at Scorpion and to the Kaseya team for acquiring a great local  technology company, and for continuing to build from the Scorpion base here in BC.
